Dear Google Project

It’s a great pleasure to know more about your tools and product. I appreciate Google Project which gave me the opportunity to obtain lots of new information about these great products. During MIS course we have done several tasks, but the most exciting one is about writing blogs. That was the first time for me that I write blog. At the begging, when our teacher talked about this project I thought it will be difficult =S, but our teacher is a very helpful person because he explained for us in detail about blogger. Also he gave us a chance to create our own blogs and wrote the first post. Once I’ve found it easy and enjoyable, I continued writing and posting blogs. I learnt lots of new staff about blogger like how to change blogger themes, add new gadgets and change blogger layout. In addition, I think that bloggers gave me an ideas about my classmate ideas, stories and though about their own life which strength our relationships. I will be loyal to my blog and inshallah I will continue posting my diary ^_^

According to the Google practical project, I had a great chance of learning new things independently because I believe that when we discover new things by our self , we will not forgot them at all. Google project added some increase my ability and skills in using some Google tools. Some of my best Google tools are Google Chrome, Google calendar, Picasa, iGoogle , Gmail , Google desktop and Google finance.

Google chrome: Google Chrome is a new browser which runs web pages faster than ever. I found it very easy to understand so I use it as my default browser.

Google calendar: its help me to track important events and to organize my tasks and share them with my friends.

Gmail: Gmail has been my best source to check my mails and alerts such as FOREX news.

Google desktop: Have lots of cool features. Its help me a lots to organize my time and my tasks

Google finance

Google Searching: I used it to search for new information regarding my projects

Google Finance: As finance student, Google finance is the best products which helped me in several projects such as International Trade course.

Google Earth: I think that we don’t have to travel if we have Google earth =)

Google site: It’s the easiest products to create websites.

Blogs: My electronic space and diary which keep me in touch with my close friends.

Google Reader: It’s useful but usually I don’t have time to check it.

Finally before I end up my post I wish you have a fantastic trip during the holiday and thanks you for everything, I’m grateful that you are my teacher.

Bazaar 2009

Yesterday was the last day of DWC 20th annual bazaar. It’s an annual event took place each year in Dubai women’s college. This annual event is an essential part of the DWC teaching courses. This event gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills where they learned in the classroom to real life business projects. Bazaar 2009 involves several activities including: children's area, blood donation drive, health screening,charity fund raising, and a large variety of small businesses.

During the last bazaar we were banker, they choice us because we are finance student. Bank has played an important role in the bazaar. All Business in this bazaar must deal by Dowes currency. This currency is special for this event only, if any customer want to buy anything must change their AED to Dowes.

As I said, we were a banker; we helped people to convert their currency and we did the calculation at the end of each day to find the balance. It was really a great experience for me and I learned a lot of things. For example being a banker helped me a lot to communicate with people and overcome any problem I face in short period.

Finally I want to say that bazaar is really great event which allows us to practice the theoretical knowledge and skills we learnt in the classroom in real way.

charlie bit my finger- Most viewed video

Last month my sister Eman sent me YouTube link titled “Charlie Bit My Finger”. This video about two British brothers, aged three and one. The younger brother, Charlie, bites the finger of the older brother, Harry.

When I found the movie on YouTube and clicked to play it, I was number 140,730,840 visitor. “Charlie Bit My Finger” has become the ultimate viral video with more than 140 million views and rising. This movie clip, which is just under a minute long but it become one of the most watched video on YouTube.

Really there is some enjoyment that comes from watching this video. Please don’t ask me why?

Teacher for one day

Being a teacher for one day is really good experience for me. For our MIS course we were assigned as group to choice any chapter from 5 to 10 and explain it for our classmate. We decided to choice chapter 8 which is “Security Information System”.

After lots of reading we faced some difficulties to understand some part of this chapter. So we met our teacher regarding this problem and he was very helpful and resourceful because he explained this chapter for in very simple way.

After this useful meeting, we started to prepare for our lesson and search for smart ideas to make our lesson interesting and easy for our students. After that, we met our teacher again and explained for him our plan and ideas.

Security information system chapter is about how you can protect your computer from unauthorized access and why business need know about this system before they start their activity.

UAE National Day

Before 2 days, I celebrated National Day with my family and close friends. We usually fly our flag on our cars and our home and play music and sing .I found that all Emiratis or expatriates celebrated as one family, which made me proud of my country.

To me the National Day means identity. Without this union we wouldn't have an identity. Before, we were small separate states. As a country and as a people we are stronger in unity. I am so excited about celebrating the birth of this wonderful country.

It's Friday....Zzzz

So I woke up this morning * ;) i mean afternoon ;)* asking myself, what I want to do today? Should I hang out with my sister today or should I spend the day all by my lonely self ?

It's a Friday, so as many people call it, Friday is a lazy day and soon is labeled as Lazy Friday .
Maybe I should not go out today since I was out yesterday . So today, I want to read those magazines that I bought yesterday, and clean my messy closet!

So yeah, lets just stay at home alright!

Lost

If you want to be lost, watch lost >< .It’s my favorite series in my life. Lost is an American serial drama television series. It follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island, after a commercial passenger jet flying between Sydney, Australia, and Los Angeles, United States, crashes somewhere in the South Pacific. Each episode typically features a primary storyline on the island as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character's life.Today i watch the last episodes of the third season of lost and I decided to stop watching this series until the spring break because I want to focus on my study and projects (:

Emirates Islamic Bank Awareness Campaign

As part of our Marketing for Financial Service course we were required to perform a promotion campaign for Emirates Islamic bank products. During the last week, we started the campaign for Emirates Islamic Bank talking about their branch in the Student center and what kind of products and features provided by them for DWC student and staff. We did the campaign inside the cafeteria, because we thought that cafeteria is the best place to advertise about anything. We had to plan and arranged different kind of promotion for the campaign and we came up with several ideas such as posters, video and giveaways. The students were excited and thrilled about the product and the way they were asking the questions gave us the impression that they were really interested .It was really a great experience that we gain from it the important elements of promotion.

Personal Finance Awareness for school students

As part of our Marketing course for Financial Service, we were required to perform an awareness presentation about personal finance. The targets of this awareness presentation are high school students from government and private schools. This Presentation gives the students ideas about the importance of personal finance and how they can manage their own finance.

Our group did the presentation during the open day last week. On that open day, Dubai Women’s College (DWC) invited several high schools students to give them an ideas about kinds of majors they offer for any student who want to join DWC. So we get this chance to meet these students for our awareness presentation. Before we started the presentation we tried with other groups to design our classes to welcome these students .We were the second group who presented in that day. There are many schools that came to our class, but we presented for only one school which was Dubai Modern Education School.

Finally, we think that this is a useful experience for both us and high school students because we learned more when present and it enhanced our self-confidences. Also students gained new information which will help them in the future.

Thank God It's Weekend!

Which means..finally...after so long I can say this.. PARTY AND RELAX!! :)
Im saying this while jumping on my bed, 'Yay yay! No assignments this weekend!!'
Actually there is one assignment due next week Sunday but no way I want to do it this weekend. Im gonna do that one next week, probably on Monday or something! I definitely need this 2 days break! So what are my plans for the weekend then?

Money on the move

We were required to choice any articles related to financial industry as part of our English course. I chose “Money in the move” article from Arabian Business magazine. This article talks about money liquidity and how it will affect the economy performance.

From this article I found very attractive information about the money liquidity and how this will help consultants to measure any economy performance. Moreover, this article includes lots of facts that are related to GCC economy. Most of these facts will help me in my International Trade course because it shows me the liquidity effectiveness in the real world. The best definition that I came up with about money liquidity is the current amount of currency that we can use to buy and sell products. So, liquidity is the main measurement to evaluate how the crises affect any economy in the world. Also I found how Gulf governments’ struggled to overcome any obstacles they face through smart plans.GCC discussed this issue during their last meeting, which shows us how the cooperation can triumph over any difficulties.

In conclusion, I found this assignment very useful for us as finance students because it gives us more information about real world economy and its performance during the crises period.

Google Project Reflection

Google Project is very useful project to us as student. I get lots of new information during each training sections.Most of training sections was interesting but few of them included topics that we don't need or we already know it before which led me to feel bored.

I was assigned to train my classmates about Google Chrome. Which is new topic for me, but really I enjoy searching for this topic. Also this project helped me when I prepaid for my training session ,by giving me a chance to be a teacher for 15 mins.This increased my self confidant and presentation skills.But on the other hand the time limit is too short which made me talk faster at the end of my section.

Finally, I'm happy that we finished this project :)
